RPG-a-Day 2018 Day 16: Describe your plans for your next game…

Since I am not gaming regularly at the moment (our last Pathfinder session was several months ago and there’s no talk of the next one), I’m always pondering what I would do if I actually had the time, space and players to run a game. I’ve been gathering ideas for a game world, mostly concepts I want to include, how I want to organise things, possible antagonists etc. I swing back and forth over what system I’d use, Pathfinder is the system I know the best and have the most resources for, but I have a lot of love for D&D 5e and I’d love to give it a shot, plus D&D Beyond is pretty awesome a a gaming resource/tool.

In an ideal world we’d play every couple of weeks, make a day of it with a break for dinner. I beleive there is always a space at the table and noone is beholden to the game, so if a player can’t make it that’s fine, and if someone wants to drop in for a session we’ll find a way to make it work. It’d be a pretty open world game, I’d give the players some threads to follow, but it’s up to them how they progress, what they get into and what they avoid. There would be choices for the characters to make, some small and some big, but there would be consequences one way or an other. There’s a bunch of other ideas I’ve got but I don’t want to get too into details, mostly because a lot of the ideas aren’t fully formed, and because I want to keep some surprises for any potential players who may be reading this…

Anyway, tomorrow I will look at the best compliment I’ve had while playing…
