RPG-a-Day 2018 Day 23: Which game do you hope to play again?
Given the lack of regular gaming that I do these days, I’d take playing any game as a victory for this question. In terms of a specific game system I’d like to play again, you might think I’d say something like D&D or Pathfinder, but a system I’d like to revisit is D20 Modern/Future. It’s an amazingly versatile system that you use with pretty much any setting you want, there’s additional rulebooks for post-apocalyptic or medival settings. The base classes are generic types like Strength or Charismatic and it lends itself to multiclassing.
Going a stage further, if I could go back and play a specific game I’ve played previously would be to go back and play as my Fighter/Runecrafter. There was so much of the world that was presented to us that we never got to, I had barely scratched the surface of the Runecrafting class crafting system, our GM was so creative and innovative that it was fun watching the world develop as we played and getting to see how the settlement we were based in grew. It’d be cool to see how the game would play out now, maybe updated to Pathfinder with all the new classes that weren’t around in D&D 3.0.
Finally, a computer game I’d like to go back and play again is World of Warcraft. I’ve sunk more time than I’m proud to admit to into that game, and I really enjoyed the world exploration and the storylines of some of the more recent expansions.
Tomorrow’s question for day 24 is which RPG do I think deserves greater recognition.
