In a report by the Guardian it has been revealed that despite multiple ways of getting entertainment these days the number of visitors to British cinemas hit 177 million, the highest since 1970.
The number of visitors to the US box office also grew by 7.4% which is good news as 2017 figures were at its lowest since 1992.
Films such as Avengers: Infinity War, Mamma Mia 2, Bohemian Rhapsody and The Greatest Showman all drove large attendances through 2018 and most will have also benefitted from repeat viewings, cough our @Kezijin and his 7 viewings of Avengers
Given the slate of films due out in 2019 I can see there being a strong challenge to continue the upwards trend.
